The procedure responds to individual needs but generally follows this outline:

(1) Referral  (2) Assessment  (3) Report  (4) Implementation               (5) Evaluation.

(1) Referral - to MaMBiC by the concerned person

(2) Assessment - of the child and their environment. This could consist of one or more of the following;              

  • Classroom observation
  • Teacher / parent / child meetings
  • Teacher / parent written and verbal information on the child/class
  • Home visit
  • School visit
  • E-mail / telephone conversations

(3) Report - analysis of the findings, written or verbal

     All clients will be provided with a written or verbal report according to their needs.

(4) Implementation - by persons agreed with the client

Reports are confidential and could recommend one or more of the following actions:                                 

  • Individual pupil tuition/ therapy
  • Advice on strategies to be used by parent/teacher/carer
  • INSET training
  • Recommendation for additional opinion.
  • On-going e-mail support
  • Target setting
  • Home/school liaison
  • Monitoring of situation
  • Support group

(5)  Evaluation - after agreed time scale, if required.

MaMBiC makes no communications with any third party, unless approved and agreed with the client.
